My journey with animals

Discover the path that led me to founding Animals of the Earth 4 years ago. From childhood and adulthood, surrounded by animals to embracing holistic wellness for our beloved companions.

A lifelong connection to animals

My story began long before Animals of the Earth. I grew up with many different animals, and from my earliest memories I felt a deep connection with them. At just two years old, I was photographed sitting quietly beside my cat, and by the age of eight I had become completely captivated by horses, spending every opportunity I could reading about them and with a desire to be near them whenever I could be.

Looking back, I realise this wasn't simply a love of animals—it was the beginning of a lifelong desire to understand them, to hear them, and to support their wellbeing.

This deep love and curiosity naturally led me to a career in veterinary nursing, where I dedicated myself to their care and wellbeing. It was a privilege to work in traditional veterinary settings, learning invaluable skills and developing a thorough understanding of animal health from a clinical perspective.

Embracing holistic animal wellness

While veterinary nursing gave me a strong clinical foundation in animal care, my path gradually unfolded into a more intuitive and holistic way of working—one that felt deeply aligned with my heart and the quiet way I have always connected with animals.

This journey first led me into energy healing and animal communication, where I began to experience animals as whole, sentient beings, listening beyond words and learning to trust the subtle language of presence, relaxation, and feeling.

From there, I was drawn to zoopharmacognosy and sensory enrichment, discovering how animals, when given the opportunity, may instinctively seek out natural botanicals that appear to support their own physical and emotional well-being. This deepened my appreciation for the innate intelligence of animals and the wisdom held within the natural world.

Along the way, I became increasingly interested in the role of species-appropriate nutrition as part of a truly holistic view of wellbeing, recognising the body, instincts, and environment as deeply interconnected. This curiosity also led me to explore other traditions, including Traditional Chinese Medicine, each offering its own perspective on balance and harmony.

I continued this path with Caroline Ingraham's IMIM (Ingraham Method of Innate Medication) approach to Applied Zoopharmacognosy (Levels 1 & 2)  and went on to  complete the IMIM Professional Diploma. Caroline's amazing work has brought greater depth and structure to my observations, while reinforcing a principle that has quietly guided me all along—that animals and nature themselves are our greatest teachers when we create the space to listen.

Today, my work continues to be shaped by this philosophy: supporting rather than directing, observing rather than assuming, and honouring each animal's innate ability to communicate, regulate, and make choices in their own unique way.

Empowering you and your animal

Animals of the Earth is rooted in a deep respect for the natural wisdom of animals and the quiet intelligence that exists within all living beings. I intend to gently support animal guardians in feeling more connected, attuned, confident, and empowered in their relationship with their companions.

Through the thoughtful offering of botanicals, animals are invited to explore their own innate preferences in a calm and respectful space. This quiet process encourages observation, presence, and a deeper understanding of the animal.

Alongside this, I offer training in Whole Energy Body Balance (WEBB) Bodywork and Energy Healing, giving guardians practical skills and confidence to continue supporting their animals at home. These gentle practices cultivate and nurture trust, connection, and a shared language that extends beyond the session itself.

For those who feel called to explore further, the Books & Blankets Library is a place of curiosity, learning, and quiet inspiration. It brings together some of the books that have travelled with me and the trusted teachers who have inspired me.

Some books arrive when we are ready for them. Heart to Heart was the first that truly called to me while working as a vet nurse. It was a time when I knew there was something the animals wanted me to know. It offered not only a doorway into a different way of being with animals, but also the courage to step through it and nurture the growth of my own inner knowing. It remains a cherished companion on my journey.
